Bronowo ( German  Brunow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It is located in the Powiat Świdwiński and belongs to the rural municipality Połczyn-Zdrój (Bad Polzin) .

Geographical location

Bronowo is 17 kilometers southeast of the district town of Świdwin (Schivelbein) on a side road that connects Połczyn-Zdrój with Bierzwnica (Reinfeld) and Świdwin. Nearby is the formerly known as “Birkenberg” and at 193 meters the highest point in the Schivelbein district. The nearest train station was until the closure of the Świdwin – Połczyn-Zdrój Redło line .

history

The small Lower Pomeranian village of Brunow was a colony village with forest properties and small farms in the Schivelbeiner Forest. Once it formed with Ritzig (Nowe Resko) an enclave between the Belgard (Białogard) and Dramburg (Drawsko Pomorskie) districts .

The outworks of Brunow were very scattered: Birch Mountain, flute, Fuchsberg, hell Immenberg, Ox Mountain, Mountain Schulz, Steinkenberg and Stubbe mountain. Some of them reached into the Schivelbein city forest.

In 1925 there were 277 inhabitants in 57 households in Brunow, in 1939 there were 242 in 67 households.

Until 1945 the municipality of Brunow was an independent administrative and civil registry district with its own police station. District court district was Schivelbein .

Since the end of the Second World War , the place has belonged to Poland and is now part of the rural municipality Połczyn-Zdrój.

Kirchlich Brunowstraße belonged to 1945 to Parish clean box (Bierzwnica) in the same Parish of Kirchenkreis Schivelbein. Thus it was assigned to the ecclesiastical province of Pomerania in the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German pastor was Friedrich Gehrmann .

Today Bronowo is in the church district Koszalin (Köslin) of the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

In Brunow there was a one-class elementary school, which was last led by teacher Max Palmstedt .
