Carl-Christian Elze (born April 26, 1974 in Berlin ) is a German writer .

life and work

Carl-Christian Elze studied medicine for three semesters, later biology and German at the University of Leipzig . Then he did a long internship at the Berlin Zoo . From 2004 to 2008 Elze studied alongside his teaching activities at the Henriette Goldschmidt School at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . From 2002 to 2009 he edited the literary magazine plumbum together with Thomas Siemon, Anja Kampmann , Katharina Bendixen and Christian Kreis . He writes poetry , prose , scripts and libretti . His last volume of poems, these small, hanging in the air, mountain preaching structures , was published in 2016 by the Berlin publishing house .

Carl-Christian Elze runs the Leipziger reading series Niemerlang together with Janin Wölke, Sibylla Vričić Hausmann , Udo Grashoff and Christian Kreis . He is a member of the PEN Center Germany and lives in Leipzig .
