history

Citation V

The Cessna Citation V (also Cessna 560 ) emerged from the Cessna Citation II, which is an extended version of the Citation I. The hull was lengthened again by 510 mm . The first prototype made its maiden flight in August 1987, which was approved in December 1988. The engines came from the Citation II, but were slightly modified to achieve a greater range. Up to the market launch in 1994 a total of 262 Cessna Citation Vs had been produced and delivered.

Citation Ultra

After Cessna decided in 1993 to overhaul the Citation V, the Cessna Citation Ultra was born , the greatest innovation of which was the engines and new avionics . When it was launched in 1994, the Citation Ultra was named the best business jet. Until the market launch in 1999, 340 aircraft had been built and delivered.

Citation Encore / Encore +

The Cessna Citation Encore was approved in April 2000 and shipped for the first time at the end of September. This variant had two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535A engines and an increased range, which was achieved by enlarging the tank.

Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535Bs were then used for the Cessna Citation Encore + , with 15.12 kN instead of 14.95 for the A variant. The avionics were also revised again and equipped with a FADEC system. The FAA was approved in December 2006, the first delivery in early 2007.

The US Marine Corps uses twelve Citation Vs under the designations UC-35C Ultra and UC-35D Encore on four bases in the USA and one in Japan. The procurement took place as a replacement for the Beech UC-12 King Air .
