Christoph Sattler
Christoph Sattler (born December 24, 1938 in Munich ) is a German architect and co-founder of the architectural office Hilmer & Sattler and Albrecht .
Life
Christoph Sattler is Romano Guardini's godchild. His middle name is Romano himself . From 1952 he attended the German School in Rome . His father Dieter Sattler , architect, cultural politician and ambassador for the German embassy, worked here.
After graduating from school in 1957, Sattler studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich under Johannes Ludwig , Josef Wiedemann and Franz Hart . He gained practical experience in the architectural offices of Rudolf Schwarz and Peter C. von Seidlein .
In 1963 he moved to Chicago at the Illinois Institute of Technology , where he studied with Myron Goldsmith and Ludwig Hilberseimer and in the meantime also worked for Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's office. After completing his Master of Science degree , Sattler returned to Germany, where he initially worked as a planner for Neue Heimat for several years .
In 1974 he founded the Hilmer & Sattler office, today Hilmer & Sattler and Albrecht and Hilmer Sattler Architects Ahlers Albrecht, together with Heinz Hilmer . Sattler is a member of the Association of German Architects .
He is the grandson of Carl Sattler and great-grandson of the sculptor Adolf von Hildebrand .
