1752
The manufacturers Günter and Deutgen build the iron 'rolling mill' on the northern city limits
1753
- 23 August: The Nepomuk statue is erected on the Rur Bridge
1754
As a result of a lightning strike, most of Distelrath burns down
1755
Strong earthquakes , also in other areas of Europe until 1756
1756
In the Seven Years' War (until 1763), first the French , then Prussians , then again the French camp in Düren
1758
The French confiscate the Franciscan monastery and set up a hospital in it
1759
- May 9th: Agreement between the city administration and the Jesuits for the extension of the 'Lauretan Chapel' to the Church of St. Anne
1771
The Lutherans get a parsonage on the farm
1773
- July 21: Dissolution of the Jesuit order in Düren
- September 25th: Order of the food market. The weekly market days are set to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (retained until today). Fruit can be sold every weekday

- June 11: funeral regulations
- October 8: Opening of the horse market
1775
- July 5: The council decides to establish a regular postal connection with Bonn . The car is supposed to run four times a week.
1777
The Kaysermühle paper mill is created

Restoration of the old grammar school building Annaplatz 3

- December 14: Inauguration of the Lutheran Church on Steinweg (built 1774–1779)

Construction of the first urban promenade on the demolished wall between Holz- and Philipptor (since September 22, 1932: August-Klotz-Str. )

The galleries, guard houses and guard rooms on the gates and the iron knights in front of the gates are demolished by 1783
1782
- Completion of the road from Düren to Monschau, begun in 1779
- The restaurant 'Zur Altdeutschen', destroyed in the Second World War , is built

The Düren company from the Land Dragon Corps takes quarters in the Kornhaus

The Schoellershammer paper mill is paid for from Jakob Theodor Deutgen's iron hammer

- There are 51 self-employed weavers in Düren
- August 10th: As a spinning mill, the Kornhaus becomes a reception house for neglected children

- Troubles of war in France's first war against the allies (until 1797)
- First numbering of the houses , counting through to house 563 1/2
- June 5th: Start of the Düren- Monschau postal connection
- December 21: The French occupy Düren and are expelled two days later. A Serbian relief department of the Austrians loots the city
1793
- 700 French prisoners are quartered in the Franciscan monastery
- In Düren there are:
- 1 iron melt
- 2 iron hammers
- 2 nail factories
- 1 iron wire factory
- 3 thimble mills in copper and iron
- March 1st: Victory of the Austrians over the French at Aldenhoven . Large troop movements around Düren
1794
- Burial of the French soldiers who died of an epidemic in the 'Franzosengraben' (area of today's Ursulines - and Wernerstr. )
- Establishment of a hospital in the Jesuit building; Ovens in the Marienkirche
- October 2: The French defeat the Austrians in the second battle near Aldenhoven . The French occupy Düren for the next 20 years until January 13, 1814.
- November 5th: French flag on the town hall
- December: A hay store is set up in the Capuchin Church
1795
- The reformed preacher Johann Sommer built a private school with boarding school in Düren
- June 6th: The gallows are removed
1797
- Under Napoleon 514 houses are counted in Düren
- Düren becomes the seat of a new government for the areas of the former Duchy of Jülich
1798
- Repeal of tithing
- April 16: Introduction of civil marriage and civil status registers (establishment of the registry offices in today's form)
- June 30th. First general Düren pond cleaning
- Johann Arnold Schoeller came to Düren from Schleiden and founded the current company Leopold Schoeller und Sons with his brother
1800
- Düren has 4,500 inhabitants
- March 21: Start of the new vigilante guard
