history

In the year 883, in the Chronicle of Casauria, the village of Civitaquana is first mentioned as Civitas Quana . The village was later renamed Civitas Cana (1194) and Civitas Aquana (1309). The parish church and bell tower were built in the 12th and 15th centuries.
