Montebello di Bertona is an Italian municipality with 940 inhabitants and is located near Villa Celiera and Farindola in the province of Pescara .

The districts (fractions) include Campo Bertona, Campo delle Piane, Campo Mirabello, Campo Santa Maria and Colasante.

The neighboring municipalities are: Civitella Casanova , Farindola , Penne and Villa Celiera .

history

Various objects from the Paleolithic were found in the area . Above all, furniture and ornaments from this period were unearthed. The village was first mentioned as Mons Bellus in 1062 . In 1290 it became the name Montisbelli Castrum . In the 16th century the community belonged to the Duchy of Penne. In 1926, the municipality of Montebello di Bertona, which until then had been part of the Province of Chieti, became the new municipality of the Province of Pescara.
