history

The first documented beginnings of Cugnoli date back to 1173 when the families living there were taxed. The old castle dates from the early Middle Ages, but only the front of the building has survived the centuries. The church of Santo Stefano from the 13th century is of great artistic value . The pulpit is in excellent workmanship.
