Claudia Emmert

Claudia Emmert (* 1965 in Stuttgart ) is a German art historian and curator . Since October 2014 she has been director and managing director of the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen . Before that, she headed the Kunstpalais in Erlangen . Since 2017 she has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the 4th Saxon State Exhibition 2020, which is organized by the German Hygiene Museum Dresden.

Professional background

Claudia Emmert studied art history, German and Romance languages ​​at the University of Stuttgart. In 1997, she was with the work stage compositions and poems by Wassily Kandinsky in the context of eschatological teachings of his time 1896-1914 doctorate . From 1992 to 1994 she was a lecturer in art history and costume studies at the State Fashion School Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart and then until 1999 director of the Fellbach City Gallery and deputy director of the Fellbach Cultural Office.

From 1999 to 2009 she was head of the DSV Kunstkontor at the Deutsches Sparkassenverlag in Stuttgart and from 2001 to 2009 she was a lecturer at the Sparkasse academies and universities in Potsdam, Bonn, Landshut and Neuhausen auf den Fildern.

From May 2009 to September 2014 she was the founding director of the Kunstpalais and head of the Erlangen Municipal Collection . In the 2014 summer semester, she also received a teaching position at the Institute for Art History at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .

Since October 2014 she has succeeded Ursula Zeller as director of the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen .

Claudia Emmert is married to the editor-in-chief of “Handwerk Magazin”, Olaf Deininger.
