The Col de la Moutière is a 2454 m high mountain pass in the French Maritime Alps .
history
At the pass, there is a 1823 set landmark that until 1861 the border between France and the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont belonging Savoy marked.
Location and surroundings
The top of the pass is only a few hundred meters west of the Cime de la Bonette , but around 350 meters lower than this.

On topographic maps you can find the indication: Col de la Moutière 2454 m . On site, however, there is a small sign that says: Col de la Moutière 2450 m.
Accesses
To the west of the pass the unpaved road D9 leads to the D906 from Barcelonnette to the Col de la Cayolle and to the northeast, also unpaved, to the D64 to the Col de Restefond . The asphalted D63 leads south to Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage and joins the D64 from Col de la Bonette to the D2205 to Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée .
At least at the entrance to the Col de Restefond, mobile homes and trailers are not allowed, there is a weight limit of 3.5 t and a speed limit of 20 km / h.
Others
The route over the Col de la Moutière offers a scenic alternative to the route over the Col de Restefond , at least for mountain bikes or enduro bikes .
