The Cormet de Roselend is a mountain pass with an altitude of 1967  m in the French Alps , department Savoie . The continuously paved road (west side D925 ; formerly D217 / Gc17 - east side D902 ; former national road 202) connects Beaufort in the valley of the Doron with Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the valley of the Isère . On the west side is the Lac du Roselend , which can be reached via the Col du Méraillet (part of the Cormet pass road) or alternatively via the Col du Pré . The road between the lake and Bourg-Saint-Maurice is much narrower. The pass is occasionally crossed by the Tour de France . First the pass was reached from the west side by the Gc17 via the alpine village of Roselend (today flooded by the Lac de Roselend). Only later did the national road 202 reach the pass from the east side. This should then be led further north from the pass over the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme and the valley of Notre-Dame de la Gorge to Les Contamines in order to close the gap in the N202.
