economy
Agriculture is no longer the livelihood as it was 100 years ago. Today vegetable growers are active in the community. In addition, there are a number of commercial operations.
traffic
The Furttal is well developed with the S6 S-Bahn (station Otelfingen Golfpark) to Baden and Zurich , local distribution by the Glattal transport company (transport officer: VBRF E. Meier) and motorway connections in Regensdorf ( A1 / A4 northern bypass Zurich) and in Wettingen (A1 Zurich – Bern).
history
The oldest surviving mention of the place name dates back to 1130 as Täninchoven , and in 1262 it was written Tenikon .
In 1821 the civil parish built a new school and community building and attached a previously unused coat of arms to it: a black ploughshare on a white ground, which underlines the self-confidence of the community's farmers. At that time the Danish people lived mainly from agriculture, a smaller part found their livelihood in commercial enterprises for local and regional needs.
Before 1843 Dänikon formed as a civil community with the neighboring village Dällikon a political community . Since the separation it has been a separate political community. The common school was not split up until 1867. The reformed parish of Dällikon-Dänikon, on the other hand, has survived to the present day.
