The Derung (also Drung ; own name in IPA : [ tɯɹɯŋ ]; Chinese  独龙族 , Pinyin Dúlóngzú ) are the fourth smallest of the 55 officially recognized national minorities of the People's Republic of China . According to the last census in 2010, they count 6,930 people. They live mainly in the Autonomous County Gongshan of Change and Nu , the Autonomous District Nujiang the Lisu , in the northwest of the province of Yunnan lies.

The Derung language is one of the Nungian languages and is also spoken by some of the Nu who live in the same area.
