The German Wrestling Association V. ( DRB ) is the umbrella organization founded in 1972 for the German wrestling clubs and clubs with wrestling departments . It is also the umbrella of the national organizations. The seat of the German Wrestling Federation has been Dortmund since 2000 . Manfred Werner , who also heads the Bavarian Wrestling Association , has been president since 2005 .

Since the establishment of the DRB in 1972 (the Federal Republic of) Germany has hosted the European wrestling championships in 1975 (in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ), 1991 ( Aschaffenburg and Stuttgart ) and 2011 (Dortmund).
