The province of Djelfa or El-Djelfa ( Arabic ولاية الجلفة, DMG Wilāyat al-Ǧilfa , Central Atlas Tamazight ⴰⴳⴻⵣⴷⵓ ⵏ ⴵⴻⵍⴼⴰ Agezdu n Ǧelfa ; also Jilfa ) is a province ( wilaya ) in Algeria .
The province lies in the transition area between the densely populated north and the sparsely populated south and covers an area of 33,236 km²
Around 1,197,000 people (2006 estimate) inhabit the province, so the population density is around 36 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The capital of the province is Djelfa , other cities with a population of over 100,000 are Ain Oussera and Messaad .
