Dobroslava (until 1927 Slovak "Dobroslav"; Hungarian Dobroszló - until 1907 Dobroszlava , Rusyn Доброслава / Dobrosława ) is a municipality in the northeast of Slovakia with 47 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which in Okres Svidník , a circle of Prešovský kraj , and is part of the traditional Šariš landscape .
geography
The municipality is located in the north-eastern part of the Ondavská vrchovina mountains on Dobroslavský potok , a tributary of Kapišovka . The center of the village is at an altitude of 414 m nm and is eight kilometers from Svidník .
Neighboring communities are Nižná Pisaná in the north, Korejovce in the northeast, Hunkovce in the east, Ladomirová in the south, Kapišová in the southwest and Kružlová in the west.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1600 as Dobroszla and belonged to the domain of Makovica Castle . In 1787 the village had 23 houses and 154 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 33 houses and 241 inhabitants who were employed as farmers, shepherds and forest workers.
The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. In the course of the Battle of Duklapass in late 1944, Dobroslava was directly at the front for seven weeks and suffered great damage, which was repaired after the war between 1947 and 1949.

According to the 2011 census, Dobroslava had 34 residents, including 16 Slovaks , 14 Russians and one Ukrainian . Three residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
15 residents supported the Greek Catholic Church and 13 residents supported the Orthodox Church. Three residents were non-denominational and the denomination of three residents was not determined.
Buildings and monuments
- Listed Greek Catholic wooden church of St. Paraskevi from 1705, with valuable iconostasis and furnishings from the 18th century. After the Second World War, the church received two side chapels, so that today it has the shape of a cross.
