Príkra (up to 1927 Slovak "Prikré"; Hungarian Meredély - until 1902 Prikra ) is a municipality in northeastern Slovakia . It is very remote on the border with Poland in the Laborecká vrchovina mountainous region south of the Duklapass , about 18 km from Svidník and is the smallest municipality in the country with currently 18 inhabitants (2007).
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1618 as Prika and emerged from a Wallachian settlement . The Greek-Catholic wooden church of the Holy Archangel Michael from 1777 is located in the village and is a national cultural monument. In 1910 the place still had 107 predominantly Ruthenian-speaking inhabitants, after which there was a strong emigration, so that in 1998 the place had only 5 inhabitants.
