Until 2016: Breakthrough as Dzeko & Torres

Dzeko grew up in Toronto, where he was involved in the music scene from an early age. In an online forum for club events, he met Luis Torres, who was also a music enthusiast. After attending a gig by the Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto together , Dzeko decided to buy some DJ equipment while Torres wanted to deal with the production. Then they shared their experiences. In 2007 and 2008 they played at different parties and made their first name in the Toronto club scene. They focused more and more on their interest in house music and its subgenres. A short time later they began to write their own tracks together and to support well-known artists as producers. In 2008 her first solo single Confronted was released , which was included on the compilation Dirty Dutch Digitale Vol. 4 compiled by DJ and producer Chuckie . At the same time, Dzeko worked as an event promoter.

After releasing a number of singles on various record labels between 2008 and 2011, Tiësto and Steve Aoki became aware of the duo in 2012 and used their songs on their live performances and signed several tracks for their record label. Until the end of 2012 they toured across Europe and North America. In March 2013 they performed at the Ultra Music Festival and the Winter Music Conference, and in the summer of 2013 at the Tomorrowland Festival.

With a remix of the song Demons by the American band Imagine Dragons , Dzeko & Torres landed a great success in early 2014. The progressive house remix had over 10 million clicks on YouTube. They contributed another remix in collaboration with Tiësto to the song Anywhere For You by the Swedish singer-songwriter John Martin . In the months that followed, singles with various EDM artists appeared on " Spinnin 'Records ", "Musical Freedom" and "Monstercat".

On March 27, 2015 they played a new recording of the song L'amour toujours by the Italian DJ Gigi D'Agostino together with Tiësto live at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami . The song is sung by the American singer Delaney Jane. After the song was released on September 7, 2015, the remix became a festival hit and reached around 100 million plays on Spotify.

At the beginning of 2016, Dzeko & Torres ended their long-term cooperation. Dzeko cited the reason that they had problems with the management of studio time and touring and this clashed with their own interests. Torres wanted to concentrate more on the studio work, while Dzeko found his passion more in hanging up. However, they said that they do not want to completely dissolve the project, but that the focus should only be on solo careers. Future collaborations were therefore not excluded.

2017: First solo singles as Dzeko

Dzeko's first solo release was titled Liberty . On February 2, 2017, the single Never Gonna Love Me was released , the vocals of which was contributed by Sam James. On May 22, 2017, he released Fluxland 2017, a remake of the song of the same name by Charly Lownoise from 1992. In June 2017, the song California, sung by the American singer Brynn Elliot, followed . Compared to its predecessor, this was based on a more commercial style. This pattern was followed by the song Heart Speak , which was released in August 2017 with Toka-J's vocals. For both songs he was assisted in songwriting by, among others, Tiësto , Shaun Frank and Delaney Jane.

In September 2017 he released the singles In Too Deep and Sleepless . For the deep house song In Too Deep , which was released on "Spinnin 'Records", he worked with Luis Torres for the first time since the split. Sleepless was published on "Raison Music" and was created in collaboration with DJ and producer Jonas Hahn and British musician Richard Craker.

2018: Jackie Chan

On May 18, 2018, the single Jackie Chan was released , which he produced in collaboration with Tiësto and Luis Torres. The vocals of the track were contributed by the American rapper Post Malone and the Canadian singer Preme. The song is a remix of the song of the same name by Malone and Preme alone, which was included on Premes studio album Light of Day . The remix developed into a commercial success that achieved a top 10 placement in over 10 countries and received several record awards. The music video, which shows the artist as a Minecraft- style video game character , also received a lot of attention.

In July 2018 Dzeko released the single Try Not To Love You via Martin Garrix record label " STMPD-Records " , which was created in cooperation with the Russian DJ and producer Aspyer and the singer Matluck. In the same month, the two instrumentals Anthem with the US-American DJ duo Riggi & Piros and Hypebeat with Kris Kaiden were released via Tiësto's “Musical Freedom” . On both singles he was supported by Luis Torres during the production.

On September 1, 2018, Dzeko released the single Blue in collaboration with the US electro-pop duo F4st , which was a cover version of the 1999 song Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65 . The remake is based on two versions that were produced by F4st on the one hand and Dzeko on the other in collaboration with Torres years before. The track reached over 10 million clicks on Spotify.

The song Don't Stop was released as a single on September 28, 2018 . This was created in collaboration with the Brazilian bass DJ Christian Liu de Almeida, whose style the song was based on.

This was created in collaboration with Riggi & Piros, with whom he has already worked once, and the singer Veronica. A second collaboration with Tiësto followed in March 2019. This was entitled Halfway There , was sung by the American singer and songwriter Lena Leon and co-produced by Luis Torres. Compared to their joint single Jackie Chan , Halfway There is less commercial than much more club-friendly.

On June 14, 2019, the song The King was released via "Musical Freedom" , which was produced together with the Swedish DJ duo Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman . The track was called the Progressive House Anthem of the Year 2019 due to its “perfect fusion of pulsating festival energy and mischievously conducted percussion” . The song reached over 7 million plays on Spotify.

In August 2019 Dzeko released the song Down On It on "Payback Records" . This is based on the song Get Down on It by the funk band Kool & The Gang from 1981 and was created in collaboration with the US investment banker and Goldman Sachs CEO David M. Solomon, who has been working under the name DJ D -Sol is also active as a DJ and producer. In February 2019, Dzeko contributed a remix to DJ D-Sol's single Feel Alive .
