At the EHF Challenge Cup 2006/07 39 took Handball part -Vereinsmannschaften, who had qualified in the previous season in their home countries for the competition. It was the 7th edition of the Challenge Cup. The defending champion was the Romanian team Steaua Bucharest . The cup games began on September 29, 2005, the second final took place on April 28, 2006. In the final, UCM Sport Reșița was again a Romanian team, this time against the Norwegian representative Drammen HK .
mode
The competition started with group games in 3 groups with 4 teams in which everyone played against everyone in a simple round . The first two of each group moved into round 3, in which other, higher-ranking teams got on. From this round, including the final, the game was played in a knockout system with a return leg. The winner of the final was the EHF Challenge Cup winner of the 2006/07 season.

All group matches took place from September 29, 2006 to October 1, 2006. Group A played in Hamm , Germany, Group B in Hyvinkää , Finland and Group C in Bijelo Polje , Montenegro.
