Eichberg was a municipality with 1,178 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2014) in northeast Styria and belonged to the judicial district of Fürstenfeld and the political district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld . As part of the structural reform of the Styrian community , it has been merged with the Rohrbach an der Lafnitz community since 2015 , and the new community continues the name Rohrbach an der Lafnitz. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.
geography
Geographical location
Eichberg is about eleven kilometers north of the district capital Hartberg near the border with Burgenland . The area is located in Joglland at the transition from the Eastern Styrian hill country to the mountain range east of the Mur . Eichberg is crossed by Kleinlungitzbach that is later than Lungitzbach at Wörterberg in the Lafnitz flows. The northern boundary of the municipality is formed by the Voraubach, in the northeast the municipality is bounded by the Lafnitz, while the south is drained by the Reibersbach.

Culture and sights
- Parish church hl. John the Baptist
- The Aichberg castle is part of the Eastern Styrian Castle Road . It was founded in the 11th or 12th century when, after the wars with Hungary, the Lafnitz was established as the border between the Holy Roman Empire and Hungary, and consequently served to strengthen this border. It is first mentioned in 1250. In 1953 the castle came into community ownership. It has been privately owned again since 1986.
traffic
Eichberg is off the main roads. The Wechsel Straße B 54 to Wiener Neustadt and Hartberg is approx. 4 km away and can be reached in the neighboring municipality of Rohrbach an der Lafnitz . The south autobahn A2 to Vienna and Graz is approx. 15 km away and can be reached via the Friedberg - Pinggau junction (95).
The Rohrbach- Vorau train station of the Thermenbahn is located in the Eichberg area . It offers regional train connections to Vienna and Hartberg every two hours .
The Graz Airport and the airport Wien-Schwechat are both about 100 km away.
