General a. D. Dr. Günter Kießling (2007)
- Schlitz / Germany : Construction of the Witzelhöhetunnel has started . The railway tunnel , occasionally also called Witzel s height tunnel, is 796 m long and belongs to the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg .
- United States : Lifetime Television and A&E Network begin broadcasting.
- Germany: The Kießling affair is ended by the intervention of Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl : The deputy NATO - Commander-in-Chief for Europe , Günter Kießling is back into active service and immediately afterwards on March 26th, honorably retired with the great tattoo .
- Hokkaido / Japan : The Japanese National Railways provides freight and baggage on the railway Iwanai-line one. This is followed by closure about a year later, on July 1, 1985 .
Saturday February 25th
- Portugal : The recordings for Dar & Receber (German: Give & Receive ) - the second and last studio album by the singer and composer António Variações - are completed. Variações dies a few months later on June 13th .
- United States : Ricky Skaggs replaces George Strait with his song Don't Cheat in Our Hometown at number 1 on the sales charts for country albums determined by Billboard .
- Gerresheim / Germany : The synagogue is smeared with anti-Semitic slogans by two young people and set on fire. As a result, it has to be torn down.
Sunday February 26th
- Germany : The 155th episode of the TV series Tatort with the name Covert Investigation is broadcast for the first time. The film is one of the few Tatort episodes in which nobody is killed.
- Rovaniemi / Finland : The large hill team competition of the Nordic World Ski Championships is held. It is the first competition on the modernized Gross-Titlis-Schanze . It is won by the home team.
- Livingston / United States : The US Indoors - a women's tennis tournament - is won by Martina Navratilova .
- Cologne / Germany: The first stunksitzung , a cabaret session in the Cologne Carnival , takes place in the old canteen of the university .
- Lebanon : In the course of the Lebanese Civil War, the USS New Jersey shelled Syrian positions in Lebanon, which had attacked the American and French soldiers of the Multinational Force in Lebanon (MNFL). Then the United States Navy is accused that the projectiles of the 16-inch guns partially deviated from the targets.
Monday February 27th
- Chalatenango / El Salvador : The Marxist-Leninist FMLN attacks a train with automatic firearms and explosives in the course of the Salvadoran civil war . 40 people die in the process.
- Germany : The pop group Nena releases their album 99 Luftballons . It is also known as the International Album and contains a selection of songs from the first two Nena albums. The first five songs are English language versions.
- United Kingdom : Human Racing is the debut album by pop musician / composer Nik Kershaw . The singles: I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me , Wouldn't It Be Good and Dancing Girls are released on the album .
- Innsbruck / Austria : The Andreas Hofer monument is sprayed with the inscription "Daniel Düsentrieb - Hofer was a Nazi".
- United Kingdom: The eleventh studio album by British rock group Queen , The Works, is released. It was produced from August 1983 to January 1984 in Los Angeles and Munich . Radio Ga Ga will prove to be the most successful single from it.
