Felipe , full name Felipe Augusto de Almeida Monteiro (born May 16, 1989 in Mogi das Cruzes ), is a Brazilian football player who plays for Atlético Madrid as a central defender .

Career

society

In 2011 Felipe moved from União Futebol Clube to Corinthians São Paulo , where he became World Cup winner in 2012 and Brazilian champion in 2015. For the club he completed a total of 53 league games.

In 2016 he moved to FC Porto. He made his Primeira Liga debut on August 12, 2016 against Rio Ave FC and scored his first goal in an away game against Sporting Lisbon on August 28 . He was able to establish himself as a regular player in his first year. In the following season 2017/18 he won the Portuguese championship with Porto.

For the 2019/20 season, Felipe moved to the Spanish Primera División at Atlético Madrid . He signed a contract running until June 30, 2022.

National team

He was nominated for a FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Paraguay in March 2016, replacing the suspended David Luiz . He made his debut for the Brazilian national team on September 11, 2018 in a 5-0 win over El Salvador .
