The airfield Bruchsal is a special airfield in the town of Bruchsal on the western edge of the Kraichgau . It is approved for gliders , powered gliders and powered aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to two tons. In addition to being used by the local air sports club in Bruchsal, the field is also approved as a works airfield for DG Flugzeugbau

Infrastructure

The airfield has an airfield restaurant.

In addition to the S33 S-Bahn line , the VBK regional bus lines 125, 182 and 183 connect the square with the local public transport network in Karlsruhe .

Incidents

  • On July 20, 2019, a crashed light aircraft of type Jodel DR 1050 of an adjacent construction market during the landing approach to the storage area. The eighty-year-old pilot and both passengers were killed. One of the two passengers was the state parliament candidate of PARTY in Bavaria, Christian Lutz.
