The 4 × 6 km relay for women in biathlon at the 2014 Winter Olympics took place on February 21, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Laura biathlon and cross-country skiing center . Gold went to the Ukrainian relay team, silver won the Russian relay team, which was subsequently disqualified for doping . Bronze went to the team from Norway.

Competition description

In the relay race, four athletes from one nation entered the race as a team. Each athlete had to run a 6 km run with three laps of equal length each. After the first two rounds, the shooting range had to be started once; the first shot had to be shot lying down, the second shot standing. In contrast to the individual competitions, the athletes had up to three reloading cartridges per shooting bout. For each target that was not hit after all eight shots had been fired, a penalty loop of 150 m had to be run. The relay handover to the next athlete took place by clearly touching the body within a given transition zone. At the end of her third lap, the last athlete no longer ran into the transition area, but straight to the finish. The winner was the nation whose relay reached the finish line first.

Total ascent: 4 × 177 m, maximum ascent: 28 m, difference in altitude: 29 m
17 relays, 15 of them in the rating.
