The women's 4 × 6 km relay in biathlon at the 2018 Winter Olympics took place on February 22, 2018 at 8:15 p.m. The venue was the Alpensia Biathlon Center . The relay from Belarus with Nadseja Skardsina , Iryna Kryuko , Dsinara Alimbekawa and final runner Darja Domratschawa was the Olympic champion . The silver medal went to the relay from Sweden, ahead of the French relay which won bronze.

Competition description

In the relay race, four athletes from one nation entered the race as a team. Each athlete had to run a 6 km run with three laps of equal length each. After the first two rounds, the shooting range had to be started once; the first shot had to be shot lying down, the second shot standing. In contrast to the individual competitions, the athletes have up to three reload cartridges per shooting bout. For each target that was not hit after all eight shots had been fired, a penalty loop with a length of 150 m had to be completed. The relay handover to the next athlete took place by clearly touching the body within a given transition zone. At the end of her third lap, the last athlete no longer ran into the transition area, but straight to the finish. The winner was the nation whose relay reached the finish line first.

Total ascent: 4 × 156 m, maximum ascent: 40 m, difference in altitude: 36 m
18 relays at the start, all in the ranking.
