The 2017/18 season was the 30th edition of the women's ice hockey Bundesliga in Germany . The league is carried out by the German Ice Hockey Federation . The main round began with its first day of play on September 23, 2017 and ended on March 17, 2018. The ECDC Memmingen team won the German championship title for the second time with just one defeat .
mode
As in the previous season, the Bundesliga clubs play a double round . The winner of the double round is the German champion. The previous three-point rule was retained, so that if you win in regular time, the winner receives three points and the loser receives no point at all. In the event of a tie after regular time, both teams will each receive one point. The winner of the subsequent penalty shootout receives an additional point.

The League begins with the seven teams in the preseason , who finished the season as well as the newly promoted from the 2nd League North, the Düsseldorf EC .
In August 2017, the league management had initially excluded the Hanover Lady Scorpions from playing due to the closed ice rink in Langenhagen. The SC Langenhagen as the parent club lodged a protest at the DEB arbitration court. Ultimately, the Lady Scorpions were admitted because the ice rink at the horse tower in Hanover was a replacement venue. In addition, the women's team at OSC Berlin switched to Eisbären Juniors Berlin before the season started .
