Frohes Volk, geschnügte Sachsen ( BWV Appendix 12) is a lost cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach , which he composed in Leipzig and which he published on August 3, 1733 on the occasion of the name day of August III. performed. The text of this Bach cantata comes from Christian Friedrich Henrici (also called Picander ). The music is lost.
With the exception of the recitatives , the piece is apparently a parody of Happy Day, Required Hours , BWV Appendix 18.
