List of Bach cantatas |
Rejoice, Redeemed Schar ( BWV 30) is a sacred cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach . He composed it in Leipzig in 1738 for the celebration of the birth of John the Baptist . Apart from the recitatives, all movements are based on the music of the secular homage cantata Angenehmes Wiederau , the text of which was written by Christian Friedrich Henrici (Picander). The spiritual counterfacture , which even includes the recitatives, should also come from Picander.
