The nature reserve Galgenloch is located in the area of ​​the municipalities of Bad Bellingen and Schliengen in the district of Lörrach .

Characteristics

The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of February 1, 1996 and has a size of 11.7796 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 3.218. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 163193 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

Location and description

The Galgenloch nature reserve is located in the municipality of Bad Bellingen in the Bellingen district with 10.0492 ha and the Schliengen community in the Schliengen district with 1.7303 ha.
The nature reserve is a complex of endangered habitats of various types, such as near-natural, rare near-natural Dry forests, hedges, semi-arid grasslands, poor meadows and orchards in extensive use. It is the habitat of numerous rare and endangered animal and plant species.

Protection purpose

The protection purpose of the nature reserve is the preservation of

  • endangered habitats of various types such as semi-arid grassland, dry bushes and gaps in dry vegetation;
  • extensively cultivated arable land with rare and endangered wild herbs as a cultural and historical document of a former cultivation method;
