Genealogical manual of the Baltic knighthoods

The Genealogical Handbook of the Baltic Knighthoods is a genealogical reference work . It contains information on noble people who are or were enrolled in one of the Baltic knighthoods.

In the period from 1929 to 1939, several volumes appeared under the name Genealogical Handbook of the Baltic Knighthoods at the publishing house for family research and heraldry CA Starke in Görlitz . The content was broken down according to the individual knighthoods.

The editors point out inadequacies in their sources and ask the readers for assistance, also by sending them original documents.

Part of Livonia

The Livonia part, also the Genealogical Handbook of the Livonian Knighthood , was published by the Association of the Livonian Nobility and edited by Astaf von Transehe-Roseneck .

Part of Estonia

The part of Estonia, also the Genealogical Handbook of the Estonian Knighthood , was published on behalf of the Estonian nobility, edited by OM von Stackelberg . It is also known as the Estonia Band and its subdivisions as parts

According to the foreword, the representation of the sexes is divided into two parts: The first part discusses origin, immigration, coats of arms and ennoblement, the second part contains the lineage from around 1800. The division into the three volumes is in the “Directory of the Estonian Knighthood “Shown. This division is not purely alphabetical.

Since 2011, a genealogical manual of the Baltic Knighthoods (New Series) has been published annually in connection with the first series under the editorship of the Association of the Baltic Knighthoods . A breakdown according to the four knighthoods and a subdivision according to classes (counts, barons and noble houses) does not take place in the new series.
