Lilienfeld is the name of a Baltic noble family that was based in Estonia and on the island of Ösel . The family consisting of four houses was ennobled in 1650 under the name "Lilliefelt" by the Swedish queen and later enrolled in the nobility register of the Ölselschen and Livonian knighthood . Well-known state politicians and high- ranking officers who served in the Imperial Russian Army came from their ranks . According to the Russian ukase , they have been using the name Lilienfeld-Toal since 1883 , whose members still live in some European and overseas countries.

history

The progenitor of von Lilienfeld's Lars Larson Moduler (also Modulas) was Swede, his parents and his place of birth are unknown. After his studies and a few trips, he began his service as an assessor at the court court in Dorpat on March 29, 1644 and was appointed assessor 1st class on April 1, 1666. In 1650 he was raised to the Swedish nobility by Queen Christine under the name "Lilliefelt" and introduced into Sweden under number 497. In the protocol of the Estonian register it says:

"11. February 1746. The Famil. Von Lilienfeldt proves the nobility status through the diploma of Queen Christina de anno 1650, so has to expect in the Matricul jura Competentia. "

Then on January 12, 1797 , the family was accepted into the Livonian knighthood under registration number 232, it also belonged to the registry of the Ösel knighthood . In the knighthoods they provided knighthood captains . Their estates in Estonia included: Wait, Addinal , Pargenthal, Moisama, Oidenorm, Essemäggi and Alp . Furthermore Saage , Eicklecht, Kechtel , Kappel, Allo, Rappel , Rocht, Kaltenborn, Uddewa, Toal , Orrenhof and Ridaka, which were lost in the course of the expropriation by the Estonian confiscation of goods in 1919.

With the Swedish elevation to the nobility in 1650, the use of a coat of arms was approved at the same time . The heraldic shield is divided into two halves, three silver lilies arranged in bars in the red part above, and a deer striding to the left in the lower blue half of the shield on a green lawn . The crest shows a stag growing out of a silver-red-blue helmet bulge , accompanied on both sides by 3 flags on poles with tips. The colors of the flags from right to left: blue, red, silver - silver, red, blue. The helmet cover is red-silver and blue-silver.
