The fifth season of the German casting show Germany’s Next Topmodel was broadcast between March 4 and June 13, 2010 on the private broadcaster ProSieben . Alisar Ailabouni was chosen as the winner, Hanna Bohnekamp was second ahead of Laura Weyel.

Instead of Peyman Amin and Rolf Scheider, the jury was composed of photographer Kristian Schuller and Qualid “Q” Ladraa, who worked as Marketing Director for Christian Audigier . Jorge Gonzalez was seen as a catwalk trainer from the seventh episode. The season's theme song was Fight for This Love by Cheryl Cole .

For the fifth season, 21,312 written applications were received. A call for a two-day open casting on January 20, 2010 in Cologne was followed by other women and girls in 1936. On January 23, 2010, the candidate Pauline Afaja was cast in another casting as part of Wetten, dass ..? Broadcast selected on ZDF . Thomas Gottschalk bet that the candidate will be in the top ten.

In the first episode, 64 participants were selected from over 2,000 applicants in a two-day open casting in Cologne, 31 of whom progressed after a show in figure-hugging clothing and a "quick shoot". These were reduced to 25 in the second episode after three tasks, the last being the presentation of the new winter collection by designer Anja Gockel on a catwalk during Berlin Fashion Week . In the third episode, Pauline Afaja was the 26th candidate. 17 candidates went on a world tour from the fourth episode. The finale of Germany's Next Top Model took place on June 10, 2010 in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne . The winner was Alisar Ailabouni. Before the end of her first year of employment, Ailabouni filed a lawsuit from her contracts with the ONEeins agency , which markets current and past candidates for the casting show. Previously, Viktoria Lantratova had already dismissed the contracts through legal action. Laura Weyel dropped out of her studies and has lived in Hong Kong since 2011 , where she works as a model for the Asian market.
