The sixth season of the German casting show Germany’s Next Topmodel was broadcast between March 3 and June 9, 2011 on the private broadcaster ProSieben . Jana Beller was chosen as the winner, Rebecca Mir was second ahead of Amelie Klever .

Overview

The castings for the sixth season took place in October 2010 in 21 German cities. Written applications were not possible. 13,374 young women introduced themselves. With Creative Director Thomas Hayo and designer Thomas Rath , Heidi Klum once again elected new fellow jurors. Catwalk trainer was again Jorge Gonzalez , theme song Girls Beautiful by Bullmeister . On March 3, 2011, the first of 16 episodes was broadcast. Of 50 candidates who were presented on the ProSieben homepage before the start of the season, half were eliminated for the second episode. At the beginning of the fourth episode, 20 applicants flew to the USA. On February 17, 2011, a villa near Los Angeles, which had been newly built to accommodate the candidates, was almost completely burned out. The production then organized a new villa. Filming locations were: Schladming , London, Los Angeles, the Nevada desert , Las Vegas , Venice Beach , São Paulo , Rio de Janeiro , the Bahamas and Cologne.

The final on June 9, 2011 took place for the third time in a row in Cologne's Lanxess Arena. Lady Gaga , Keri Hilson and Caro Emerald performed as a live act . The winner was Jana Beller. Like last year's winner, Beller complained about the contracts with ONEeins . She is now under contract with Louisa Models .

Rebecca Mir , the runner-up, has been a presenter for the Taff format since July 2012 and took part in the fifth season of Let's Dance in the same year and took second place here too. The third-placed Amelie Klever is now under contract with the Two Flies Management agency.
