Show your face! For a cosmopolitan Germany e. V. is a German association based in Berlin that campaigns against right-wing extremism . The association encourages people to take action against xenophobia , racism , anti-Semitism and all forms of right-wing violence. The aim is to strengthen social commitment and to raise awareness of all types of discrimination .
Foundation of an association
The association was founded in 2000 by Uwe-Karsten Heye , Paul Spiegel and Michel Friedman . The occasion was numerous racially motivated attacks in Germany in the summer of 2000.

Working method
The association works in the areas of awareness-raising and project work. The association designs and implements projects for the immigration society , which reduce prejudice and promote democratic coexistence. Show your face! initiates public campaigns for moral courage , which are also supported by numerous celebrities. The association organizes regular discussions, readings, concerts, specialist forums and round tables across projects.
financing
The association is mainly financed through grants and donations. From 2020 onwards , the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs will no longer pay funding .
Current projects
The association is particularly active in the area of right-wing extremism prevention in schools. On the occasion of the UN Day to Overcome Racism, the association has been organizing events nationwide since 2007, such as school action days, readings, film screenings, panel discussions and much more
Multi-module prevention projects are also carried out in three Brandenburg districts. Since June 10, 2010, the innovative experiential exhibition “7x young” for children and young people on the subject of experience of exclusion has been on view at the Bellevue S-Bahn station in Berlin . In addition, in a project with students and teachers at a secondary school in Berlin, the association has jointly developed strategies and methods on how to deal with young people who are turning to right-wing extremism at the learning and social place of school. The other repertoire includes the performance of plays for elementary school students on early democratic education . As part of the Internet project “ Störungsmelder ” operated by Zeit Online , a team of experts goes to schools with celebrities and discusses with students.
