Giże is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural community Olecko (Marggrabowa , colloquially also Oletzko , 1928–1945 Treuburg) in the Powiat Olecki ( Oletzko / Treuburg district ).

The hamlet ( Polish osada ) is located in the eastern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , eight kilometers west of the city of Olecko .

Nothing is documented about the founding date or the history of the small town. The village of the same name, Giże ( German: Giesen ), which already belongs to the Gmina Świętajno, borders the place in the south . A German name and historical connections between the two places are also not documented.

Ecclesiastically, the residents orientate themselves towards the Catholic parish church in Olecko or the parish church in Świętajno in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland or towards the Protestant parish in Świętajno, a subsidiary of the Giżycko parish in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Transport default is Giże - with a "detour" to the same village Giże via a subordinate branch road at the county - Olecko and the extending there Polish national road DK 65 (earlier German national highway 132 connected). There is no rail connection.
