Godzilla and the primeval caterpillars ( Japanese モ ス ラ 対 ゴ ジ ラ , Mosura tai Gojira , Eng. " Mothra versus Godzilla ") is a Japanese Kaijū film by director Ishirō Honda . It is the fourth part of the Godzilla series of the Tōhō studio. The monsters appearing in this film are Mothra and Godzilla.
action
A gigantic egg is recovered after a storm. When it is still unclear whether the egg should be used as a tourist attraction or made available to scientists, two twin girls, the size of a finger, the Shobijin, "little beautiful women" appear. They explain that they come from Infant Island , where their goddess, the giant moth Mothra, lives, to whom this egg belongs.
While the twins try to convince the scientists that the egg must be returned to Infant Island, Godzilla appears on the beach. After a trip to Infant Island, Mothra is awakened by the Shobijin while Godzilla attacks the egg.
A fight ensues between Mothra and Godzilla, at the end of which Godzilla kills Mothra. Meanwhile the egg has broken; two caterpillars hatch. These now use their ability to spit a serum intended for their own pupation to catch Godzilla in a net. Godzilla falls completely immobile into the sea. The two caterpillars make their way to Infant Island .
