coat of arms

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Großenhain comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.

Grossenhain coat of arms
Blazon : "From silver wavy line beams diagonally left divided , up in green a silver scythe blade , down in black and an upright Torfspaten ."
Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms indicates that the area of the municipality consists of Geest and Moor . The scythe leaf in green is reminiscent of agriculture on the Geest, the peat spade in black of the peat cut in the bog and the wavy bar of the beekeep .
