The handball east zone championship in 1948 was only held for the men's field in field handball and led to the determination of the east zone champion.

Championship course

To determine the east zone champion, the participating teams from Brandenburg (BB), Mecklenburg (MB), Saxony (SN) and Saxony-Anhalt (SA) first met in the semi-final round. The following encounters took place on June 27, 1948:

Endgame

The final of the eastern zone championship in men's field handball took place with the semi-final winners on June 4, 1948 in a double event with the football final in Leipzig's Probstheida stadium in front of 40,000 spectators.
