Holzmannshaus is a hamlet and was together with Knechtlishaus and Pfannenstil and from 1812 with Hofen a local community in the canton of Thurgau (Switzerland), which existed from 1803 to 1871 and was assigned to the municipality of Sirnach .
On the Swiss national map , Holzmannshaus is shown under the dialect name Holpmishus .
history
Holzmannshaus was first mentioned in a document in 1448 as the Holtzman's guot near Eschlikon. Holzmannshaus was in the so-called High Courts on Tuttwilerberg , where from the late Middle Ages until 1798 the federal bailiff or the bailiff appointed by him held the high and low courts . Ecclesiastically, Holzmannshaus shared the fate of the Sirnach parish .
In 1803 Holzmannshaus became a local community, to which the previously independent community of Hofen was added in 1812 ; Goods and administration remained separate, however. When the local community Holzmannshaus was dissolved in 1871, Hofen came to the local community of Sirnach and the rest of the dissolved community to the local community of Oberhofen bei Münchwilen and, in 1950, to Münchwilen .
