Kalthäusern is a district of the village of Weingarten- Kalthäusern in the municipality of Lommis in the Münchwilen district of the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland . Kalthäusern is located in the Lauchetal at the foot of the Immenberg .
Kalthäusern formed until 1994 a municipality of Munizipalgemeinde Lommis. On January 1, 1995 , Kalthäusern merged to form the political municipality of Lommis.
history
Kalthäuser was first mentioned in a document in 1296 as Kalthusiren . In 1296 the commandery Tobel in Kalthäusern had real estate. From the 13th century to 1798 the village belonged to the Sonnenberg lordship and the Lower Court of Stettfurt .
Originally, Kalthäusern was located in the parish of Wängi and ecclesiastically shared its fate until the 19th century. Then the Catholic village separated from Wängi in 1807 and joined the parish of Lommis.
In the 19th century arable and fruit growing was practiced, and the weaving mill offered income opportunities. The transition to cattle and dairy farming took place in the second half of the 19th century. Embroidery emerged around 1900. Around 1920, the viticulture practiced on Immenberg from the 13th century disappeared completely. To this day, the cold house, which is located off the beaten track, retains its character as a farming village, in which in 1980 the vast majority of the workforce was still working in the first economic sector .
