Tannegg is a former municipality of the municipality of Fischingen and is now part of Dussnang in the Münchwilen district of the Swiss canton of Thurgau . In 1972 she joined the newly created community of Fischingen.
history
The namesake of the local community was Tannegg Castle, which was probably built by the Constance Bishop Heinrich von Tanne , who was in office from 1233 to 1248, as the center of the Tannegg dominion belonging to the Constance Cathedral monastery. The site was first mentioned in 1245 as Tannegge . In church terms, Tannegg always shared the fate of the parish of Dussnang .
The local community of Tannegg consisted of Bernhardsriet (Bäritsriet), Hatterswil, Schurten, Vogelsang and other hamlets as part of the municipality of Fischingen from 1812 to 1971. In addition to cattle and dairy farming, some agriculture was practiced in Vogelsang. The Schurten mill was closed in 1935, that of Tannegg in 1953. Mechanical embroidery existed until 1901 and Schiffli embroidery until 1933 . The Tannegg weaving mill produced silk fabrics in the 19th century and terry towels at the beginning of the 21st century .
