geography

The place has the shape of two compact, slightly rising rows of houses with the small church in the middle. The hiking trail to the White Cross and the Hundsheimerberg begins at the east end . In the cliffs above the village there is an aviator memorial and the Günter cave. 1 km to the west, the eastern part of the New Settlement and a sports center were built at the foot of the Hexenberg . In the east of Hundsheim, under the Teichberg, lies the scattered settlement Teichtal .

The tectonically diverse geology between Hundsheimerberg and Spitzerberg , where a gliding center is located, is used economically by some quarries. Some viticulture is practiced on the gentle southern slopes , the fields bordering on them are protected from erosion by wind protection strips .
