NGC 2582 = IC 2359 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 194 million light years from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on February 22nd, 1789 .
