I am always there for you! ( Urdu : ميں ہوں نا, Hindi , मैं हूँ ना, maim Hu nā, Literally translation. I am here, I Am Here ) is a Bollywood - film , that of Farah Khan was written and in which she also directed led. Gauri Khan and Shahrukh Khan produced it. It was released in Indian cinemas on April 30, 2004 .
The film is about an Indian major , Ram Sharma, who returns to the university to find his half-brother and to protect Sanjana, the daughter of a general .
The film is remarkable because of the very lively (and partly quite un-Indian) music and dance sequences (the director is actually a choreographer). Many of the action sequences are reminiscent of films like Mission: Impossible and The Matrix - such as a car chase that includes a rickshaw caught in flames .
action
I am always there for you! tells the story of Major Ram Prasad Sharma and his attempts to stop the terrorist Raghavan Datta. In addition, Ram tries at the same time to restore the relationship with his father's wife and his half-brother Laxman, who is called Lucky by his friends or in school, who both reject him because he comes from an illegitimate relationship. Laxman also rejects everything that has to do with the military and deeply despises it.
Raghavan wants to sabotage a military project called Milaap (unit; in the German-language dubbing "reconciliation"), which represents a first step towards friendship between India and Pakistan . India will release fifty Pakistani prisoners arrested for crossing the border - most of them villagers who accidentally crossed the border. Raghavan does not want peace between India and Pakistan as he lost his son in the Indo-Pakistani conflict in Kashmir and has a deep hatred for Pakistan and all Pakistanis. Later in the film it emerges that Raghavan's son was not killed by Pakistanis but by Indian soldiers, which of course he refuses to admit.
First, Raghavan tries to stop the reconciliation project by killing the responsible general. This is thwarted by Major Ram's father by throwing himself in front of the general and so stopping the bullet intended for that person with his own body.
While the father dies, he asks Ram to mend the relationship with his half-brother Laxman, who lives in the university town of Darjiling near the Himalayas and about whom Ram knew nothing, and to his wife Matur, who left Ram's father because she couldn't accept his illegitimate son Ram. Both brothers should scatter their father's ashes in the Ganges .
Raghavan tries again to stop the project: this time he threatens the general's daughter, Sanjana. The general asks Major Ram to protect Sanjana; Ram would much rather follow his father's wishes and go in search of his half-brother. Sanjana and Laxman attend the same college , so Ram Laxman can seek out and protect Sanjana at the same time.
So Ram comes to college as a student. He is much older than any college student who makes fun of him. But after he saves the life of Laxman, who calls himself Lucky, he is accepted. He also falls in love with the new chemistry teacher Miss Chandini ( Sushmita Sen ) and moves into the house of Lucky and his mother as a subtenant.
Raghavan comes to college as a teacher unrecognized. After doing some research, he blows Ram up so that Mrs. Sharma throws him out of her house. This is how Raghavan can take students and teachers hostage. He demands Ram hostage. A fight ensues between Raghavan and Ram, in which Raghavan and part of the school are caught by a hand grenade and Raghavan dies. In the end, Ram and Lucky graduate from college.
