Ileana Tonca (* 1972 in Brașov , Romania ) is a Romanian soprano . Since 1999 she has been a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble .

Life

Ileana Tonca studied at the Music Academy in Bucharest with Georgeta Stoleriu. She then sang at the Bucharest National Opera, among others, Konstanze in Abduction from the Seraglio , Rosina in Rossini's Barber of Seville and Adina in Donizetti's love potion .

In 1999 she debuted as Gemmy in William Tell at the Vienna State Opera, where she has since been an ensemble member and roles as Sophie in Rosenkavalier , Sophie in Werther , Zerlina in Don Giovanni , Adina and Gianetta the love potion , Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro , the Woglinde in Rheingold and Götterdämmerung and Papagena in the Magic Flute . In addition, she was there in children's opera productions such as Das Traumfresserchen as Schlafittchen, in Peter Pan as Wendy Moira Angela Darling, in Iván Eröds Pünktchen and Anton in both title roles , in Nino Rota's Aladdin and the Magic Lamp as Princess Badr-al-Budur, in Bastien and Bastienne as Bastienne and in Pinocchio as a fox.

Guest performances have taken her to the Bavarian State Opera and the State Opera Unter den Linden, among others .

  • 1999/2000: Promotion award within the framework of the Eberhard Waechter Medal
  • 2004 Austrian women's art award. of the Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture
  • Prize winner at the Francisco Vinas Singing Competition
