Illya Nyzhnyk ( Ukrainian Ілля Нижник , FIDE designation Illya Nyzhnyk * 27. September 1996 in Vinnytsia ) is a Ukrainian chess player . He has the title of grand master .

After Illja Nyschnyk became vice European champion in the U 10 age group in 2006, he won the B group of the Moscow Open in 2007 at the age of ten, earning an Elo performance of 2633. In the same year he became European champion and vice- world champion in the age group under 12 years. The following year he also won the European Youth Championship for under 16s. Nyschnyk achieved his first norm for the grandmaster title in 2008 with his tournament victory at the sixth Nabokov Memorial in Kiev, in front of eleven other participants, with 8.5 points from 11 games. He achieved his third grandmaster norm at the Open in Groningen in January 2011. He was the youngest of all grandmasters at the time of the award, which took place in February 2011.

With PKV-Kievchess he was Ukrainian team champion in 2008 and 2009. In Germany he played for SG Porz in the 2nd Bundesliga West from 2010 to 2014 . In the Polish team championship in 2011 he played for KSz Polonia Wrocław , in the French top 12 he played in 2013 for Évry Grand Roque . In 2015, he played for the St. Louis Arch Bishops team in the United States Chess League .
