Jared McCann (born May 31, 1996 in Stratford , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League since February 2019 . Previously, the Center for the Vancouver Canucks that it in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft were selected at the 24th position, and for the Florida Panthers active.
Career

At the end of the 2012/13 season McCann was honored for his achievements in which he was elected to the second all-rookie team of the OHL. He was also called up for Team Ontario at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2013 . In the following season he was for the first time in the squad of the Canadian U18 national team. With this he took part in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2013 , where he won the gold medal with the Canadian team.
After his Vancouver Canucks in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft were selected in the first round, McCann was the beginning of the season 2015/16 for the first time in the NHL squad. After the season, however, he was given a second-round and a fourth-round vote to the Florida Panthers , who in return sent Erik Gudbranson and a five-round vote for the same draft to Vancouver. The Panthers from then on also used it on their farm team , the Springfield Thunderbirds in the American Hockey League (AHL). At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, however, the attacker established himself in Florida's NHL squad.
After about two and a half years in Florida, the attacker and Nick Bjugstad were handed over to the Pittsburgh Penguins in early February 2019 . In return, the Panthers Derick Brassard and Riley Sheahan received a second-round vote and two fourth-round votes for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft .
