Katase is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse ( Alajõe until 2017 ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 41 inhabitants (as of 2011). It is located directly on the north bank of Lake Peipsi ( Peipsi järv ).

Katase was first mentioned in a document in 1419.
