Stars in the Euro NCAP - Crash Test (2012)

The second generation of the Kia cee'd came onto the European market on June 2, 2012, initially as a five-door hatchback model. The station wagon version called cee'd_sw followed on September 15, 2012 . Since March 16, 2013 there was also a three-door model with the name pro_cee'd . The addition " JD " describes the second generation of the cee'd model , which has been in series production since April 2012. The first generation (12/2006–03/2013) was given the type designation "ED". In Germany, the cee'd was Kia's best-selling model in October 2015 .

technology

At the market launch, two gasoline and two diesel engines were available for the cee'd . The petrol engines produce 73 kW (99 PS) and 99 kW (135 PS), respectively, from 1.4 and 1.6 liters displacement, while the diesel engines from 1.4 and 1.6 liter displacement to 66 kW (90 PS) and 94 kW (128 PS) came.

The weaker petrol and diesel engines were only linked to a five-speed manual transmission until March 2013, but from March 2013 they were fitted with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, like the more powerful petrol and diesel engine variants. A six-speed dual-clutch transmission is also available for the more powerful petrol engine and a six-speed automatic transmission for the more powerful diesel engine. The power is transmitted through the front wheels.

In summer 2013 the engine range was expanded to include the cee'd GT and Pro cee'd GT . These are models that have the 1.6-liter gasoline engine, but this version has a turbocharger and thus an increased output of 150 kW (204 hp).

The chassis has MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link axle at the rear .

Facelift

In June 2015 the cee'd was given a revision. On September 26, 2015, the modified version came on the market, whereby the external changes remained minor.

On the engine side, there was a new three-cylinder gasoline turbo engine with a displacement of around one liter and 88 kW (120 hp) and 172 Nm of torque. He has a balancer shaft. The other engines now also met the Euro 6 emissions standard , with the output of the 1.6-liter diesel engine even increasing to 100 kW (136 hp). A 7-speed dual clutch transmission was also available.
