reception

Filmstarts rated the film 1½ out of 5 stars. The numerous product placements , including for Schweiger's companies, as well as a “brutal humor” that “is neither well written nor well staged” are rated negatively . The conclusion of the review is: "If there are significantly more prominent product placements in a comedy than sparkling punchlines, that's never a good sign." However, the film is also "not as bad as the first part"; it contains "less questionable wisdom and more fast-paced slapstick ", which only worked to some extent thanks to the acting performances of Milan Peschel and Samuel Finzi.

Matthias Dell found on Zeit Online that this film was astonishing and - based on the works of Schweiger, mostly ridiculed by film critics - that Schweiger was one of his better, if not one of the best, alongside Guardian Angels . The comparatively mild age would not have been expected. For example, apart from the opening scene, the film dispenses with “a characteristic of Schweiger's oeuvre: the emotional marketing clip, which often stops the plot for dramaturgical reasons.” In terms of equipment, the film sets a new standard in Schweiger's work, the Americanized country house The trimmed furnishings of the apartments shown can only be distinguished by the basic tones. In Schweiger's world, Germany would "really only consist of exterior views of manor houses, fields, empty streets with American hearses and the lights of the night of a wider Berlin street", which served as a metropolitan code.

Horst-Günther Fiedler wrote in TV-Media that it was a well-intentioned sequel that should actually be called The Funeral . The film is only for fans. There would be no center of the film, hardly any story that could be driven forward by the loosely connected, number revue-like sequences. The far too many characters are caricatures, and visually everything looks like a two-hour IKEA commercial. In all the chaos, Schweiger has hidden a few true moments.
